How to troubleshoot intermittent audio issues on an old Windows PC?
I have an old Windows PC that has been having audio issues for a long time. Sometimes, when I move or touch my headphones, they disconnect from the PC and I have to adjust the audio jack until they are detected again. This problem comes and goes randomly. A week ago, I accidentally yanked out my headphones and since then, they stopped working properly. They are detected by the PC, but they do not play any sound. I also have trouble loading YouTube videos on Chrome. I tried rebooting the PC, but it did not help.
I bought new headphones (Razer Kraken X Lites), but they also have the same problem. They connect and disconnect randomly, and they do not play any sound. I always unplug them after use to avoid damaging them. I do not know what is causing this issue. Is it the audio jack, the settings, or something else? I do not want to spend money on fixing or replacing this PC, as it is very old and slow. I need it for my school work, so I need a solution. I have updated the drivers, but it did not make any difference. What can I do to fix this problem?
